Ava Community Energy partners with Prologis to develop five local community solar projects

The projects will be located in Hayward, Oakland, San Leandro and Tracy

Oakland, Calif. (June 25, 2024) – Ava Community Energy (Ava), a leading not-for-profit electricity provider, has announced the selection of Prologis for the development of five solar projects, in accordance with California’s Disadvantaged Communities Green Tariff (DAC-GT) program. Following a rigorous evaluation process, Ava chose Prologis’s proposed portfolio of five projects, all of which have 20-year contracts:

• 3.0 mega-watts (MW) solar project in Tracy, expected to be operational in June 2026
• 2.0 MW solar project in Tracy, expected to be operational in June 2026
• 0.72 MW solar project in Oakland, expected to be operational in December 2025
• 1.0 MW solar project in San Leandro, expected to be operational in April 2026
• 0.56 MW solar project in Hayward, expected to be operational in April 2026

The DAC-GT program promotes the development of renewable generation within a disadvantaged community (“DAC”) and offer primarily CARE/FERA customers living in a DAC access to 100% renewable energy supply and a 20% discount on their electricity bills.
