Pleasanton’s Energy Transition
In order to offer Pleasanton businesses and residents cleaner energy and to help the City of Pleasanton achieve its Climate Action Plan goals, the Pleasanton City Council voted to join Ava Community Energy (Ava) in September 2019. Ava began serving residential, business, and municipal electricity customers throughout Pleasanton in April 2021.
In July 2021 the Pleasanton City Council voted to set the default electricity option for Pleasanton residents (except those on CARE, FERA, and/or Medical Baseline rates) to Ava’s Renewable 100 service starting in January 2022. Renewable 100 service is sourced from 100% renewable facilities, including our wind farm in Livermore, and costs an additional 1¾ cent per kilowatt-hour above PG&E rates.
Customers in Pleasanton can choose Ava’s Bright Choice service or return to PG&E service at any time. Your participation is helping Ava move toward 100% carbon-free electricity for all customers by 2030.
You can reach an Ava representative at +1 833.699.3223 during business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays).
