Heat Pump Water Heater Contractor Incentives
Get paid to install high-efficiency heat pump water heaters.
Get $1,000 to reduce the cost of every heat pump water heater (HPWH) you install.
Help your customers save on long-term energy costs, and get a thousand dollars to reduce your customers’ costs when they make the switch from a gas water heater to a heat pump water heater (HPWH). Ava is offering contractor incentives that pay you $1,000 directly every time you install a heat pump water heater in our service territory.
How does an installation qualify?
- Homeowner must be a current Ava Community Energy customer
- Installation must replace an existing natural gas or propane water heater with a new heat pump water heater
- The heat pump water heater must have a Uniform Energy Factor of 3.3 or greater AND grid-connected capabilities—see qualified product list (PDF).
How do I participate?
This program is open to B-General Building, C-36 Plumbing, and C-20 HVAC Contractors.* Visit the Switch Is On to enroll in the HPWH Contractor Incentive Program along with the Statewide TECH Clean California Program.
Applications for these two programs can be submitted on the same claim form. On the bottom of the enrollment form, select the checkbox to enroll in the HPWH Contractor Incentive Program. If you already have an account with The Switch Is On, you can login and submit a claim.
*Incentives are available for qualifying equipment purchased July 23, 2024 through March 31, 2025 or while program funds last. This incentive is funded by Ava Community Energy and is in addition to available TECH Clean California incentives, although the enrollment portal is the same.
