Resilient Home
Ava helps customers be prepared for power shut-offs with a solar + battery storage system while supporting the grid.
Solar is one of the best ways to take control of your power. With it, you can generate your own clean energy and even reduce your power bill. But your solar system will provide even more benefits when you include battery storage.
When you invest in a solar + battery storage system, you’ll save money by using your stored solar energy when rates are highest. Plus you’ll be ready for rolling blackouts and PG&E grid outages during wildfire season, heatwaves, earthquakes, and other unpredictable events.
We partnered with Sunrun to help residents maintain power during power outages by providing a financial incentive to include battery storage when customers purchased solar for their homes.
Resilient Home is no longer open to new enrollments, but we continue to operate over 1,200 participating homes in a Virtual Power Plant, which operates every day. Clean renewable energy is stored in customers’ batteries during the day and exported to the grid when the sun goes down and energy prices go up. This program helps our community by increasing local electricity generation, providing you with backup power in the event of power outages, and creating an energy storage network that will help make the grid more reliable.
Ava is launching a new solar and storage program for all Ava customers in early 2025. Stay tuned for more details.
