Ava Auto-Enrolled Solar Discount
The Ava Solar Discount program provides improved access to renewable energy for CARE and FERA customers. It makes solar energy accessible to more people including renters and homes unsuitable for solar rooftop installation. Program participants get clean, renewable energy and an additional 20% savings on their electric bill on top of CARE and FERA rate discounts.

- Eligible customers receive an additional 20% off their electric bills—on top of CARE and FERA discounts.
- Supports local green jobs training and workforce development programs by enabling job trainees to participate in solar electric system installations.
- Our Solar Discount program is Green-e® Certified and meets the environmental and consumer-protection standards set forth by the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions. Learn more at www.green-e.org.

We have contracted for five solar projects to be built in our service area. The projects are expected to come online in 2025 and 2026 and will supply 5.8 MWh of energy, enough electricity to power about 2,900 households. Learn more about these projects on our Power Projects page. In the interim, clean energy for this program is supplied by an existing qualifying solar project.
Eligibility
Participants must be:
- Ava account holders
- Eligible for CARE or FERA
- Live in a designated Disadvantaged Community as defined by the State’s CalEnviroScreen tool.
