That means the store will be packed with purple-tagged items that are free for the taking! Plus, all other donated inventory at all three stores will be 30% off for the day! Even better? Ava Grants Ideation Public Community Workshop
Ava Community Energy is hosting a Grants Ideation Public Community Workshop and invites community members, local nonprofits, and partner organizations to help shape Ava’s 2026 community investment grant priorities. This interactive workshop offers an opportunity to share ideas, learn about Ava’s grantmaking strategy and upcoming funding focus areas, and connect with other local organizations and residents through small-group discussions. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 PM at Ava’s Oakland office (1999 Harrison St), with a remote option also available. We look forward to hearing your ideas. -

Whether you’ve never ridden an e-bike or are already a seasoned rider, this is your chance to test ride e-bikes, meet local bike shops and learn about Ava Bike Electric. Bike East Bay will also be there to talk about free bike education and safety resources. This is a family-friendly event — everyone is welcome!
