NLR Names Ava Community Energy One of the Top Green Power Providers in the U.S.

Ava Community Energy recognized as a top green power provider, ranking third in green pricing sales and second in green power customer count among Community Choice Aggregators nationwide
Oakland, Calif. – February 17, 2026 – Ava Community Energy (Ava) today announced its recognition as one of the U.S.’s top green power providers by the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR)’s 2024 Utility Green Power Rankings report. This is Ava’s third consecutive inclusion in the top rankings.
Serving California’s Alameda County and parts of San Joaquin County, Ava Community Energy continues to deliver on its commitment to driving clean electrification across its service area and is tracking toward its goal of providing 100% carbon-free electricity to all Ava customers by 2030.
According to NLR’s 2024 rankings, Ava Community Energy ranks third in green power sales with 1,957,441 MWh and second in green power customers (646,131) among Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs) nationwide. Since the NLR began including CCAs in its annual reporting in 2022, Ava Community Energy (formerly East Bay Community Energy) has ranked in the top 3 each year.

NLR’s annual list of top green power providers identifies and compares clean energy programs across utilities and CCAs, evaluating green pricing, customer acquisition, and sales figures.
Ava’s green power offerings include its Bright Choice power mix, which provides 62% eligible renewable energy at lower rates than the alternative investor-owned utility, and its Renewable 100 offering, which provides 100% renewable energy. In 2024, Renewable 100 comprised 77% solar and 23% wind energy.
