Agricultural rate schedules are designed for the unique needs of farms and water pumping operations. Ava uses the same agricultural rate schedules as PG&E, including AG-1, AG-4, and AG-5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ava more expensive than PG&E?

Ava offers two service plans: one that is at a discount to PG&E (Bright Choice) and one that is at a higher rate (Renewable 100). If you are on Bright Choice, you are paying less for electricity generation than you would if you were on PG&E’s plan. If you are on Renewable 100, you are paying a little bit more for 100% clean and renewable energy.

To find out what plan you’re on, check the Ava page of your bill for a line item called “Bright Choice” or “Renewable 100.” The amount listed on that line will show you how much you are saving or how much extra you are paying compared to what you would have paid PG&E.

If I have multiple accounts, can I choose different plans?

Yes, owners of multiple accounts can choose to opt up or opt out of their accounts on an individual basis. You will be able to see all your accounts at once and decide what is best for each one.

Does Ava have a different rate structure for agricultural customers?

Ava uses the same rate schedules as PG&E, including those rates specific to agricultural customers such as AG-1, AG-4, and AG-5. These rates are designed for farms and water pumping operations. Compare the most up-to-date rate sheets.

What if I have existing direct access arrangements?

Customers with existing direct access arrangements will not be automatically enrolled in Ava service. However, those customers can choose to become Ava customers. Special direct access termination provisions may apply. To better understand your options, call us to talk about your individual situation.

Does Ava have programs for commercial or agricultural customers?

The most up-to-date program offerings for commercial customers can be found on our For Businesses page. We’re currently evaluating our program portfolio and planning for new program offerings. You can also check our Open Solicitations for opportunities to work with us.
